We have an immediate opening for a Product Manager at our growing online adventure travel firm. Our model is based on sourcing great outdoor adventures from outfitters around the world, and offering those trips through a variety of online and off-line interfaces and partnerships. This ad is for a full time position, but we will consider a 2-3 month contract.
In this role, you will work on presenting the inventory of trips that we choose to offer in the marketplace. This will involve researching the best trips offered around the world, contacting outfitters to express our unique value proposition, helping negotiate sales agreements with those outfitters, aggregating appropriate content and working with our online product marketing team to establish the most efficient booking process (which may vary from outfitter to outfitter). Specifically, you will:
-have a high level of enthusiasm for adventure travel and one (or more) areas of practical domain knowledge (ie you climb, bike, surf, sail, etc)
-have a minimum of six years post-collegiate professional work experience, preferably some of which was in digital media
-be outgoing and able to communicate our company’s value proposition to prospective partners
-possess better-than-average writing skills
-be proficient with the usual suite of computer applications (word/excel/etc)
-enjoy a startup/entrepreneurial work environment and all the pros and cons that come with it
This position is based in our New York offices (Tribeca) and compensation will be a combination of salary and bonus. Some travel may be required, as may some time in-store with outdoor retail partners.
